Aubrey is 10 Months Old!

*Sorry for the weird spacing.  I do the correct spacing in my "draft" but then when I publish it, the spacing is all messed up!

How are we already to the DOUBLE DIGITS?!?!?!  I now only have 2 months to plan her 1st birthday party - ha!

* She weighed 16 lbs 4 oz at the doctor today (went in b/c she had gunk oozing from her eye....ear infection and conjunctivitis!  blah!)
* She's mostly in 9 month clothes but still fits in some 6 month stuff.  She should be in size 3 diapers but the size 2 are ok and we're trying to get rid of the last of them!
* She is now eating meat.  I don't think I ever gave Caleb pureed meat because I thought it was disgusting.  When we were on vacation, Holly (sis-in-law) was giving Adam (nephew) this brand of baby food, Beechnut, and said that the meat ones actually weren't that bad.  So, I decided to get over my fear/disgust of pureed meats and bought some when we got home from vacation.  Aubrey has loved all the ones we've tried except one that is beef, macaroni and veggies.  She just kinda tolerates that one.  She likes the chicken and veggies, chicken and apples, and ham w/pineapple and rice.

*  She reaches, lunges and grabs at everything.  She thinks everything is a new toy!
*  She's STILL not crawling.  However, she has started rolling a little more so I guess that is an improvement.  She will put her bottom up in the air as if she's trying to get her legs under her, but she doesn't move.  She also gets one leg in the position to push off from it, but doesn't actually do it.  She will also straighten out as stiff as a board and push up on her toes.  I know these are all signs that she's trying to figure it out, but hopefully it'll happen sooner rather than later!

*  She loves paper.  She loves to hold it, wrinkle/ball it up, and of course she has to put it in her mouth.  I don't know how she hasn't gotten a paper cut yet!
*  Seriously, I think her favorite activity is laying on her back and kicking her legs as if she's running somewhere.  She kicks and kicks and kicks and kicks.....  and while she's kicking she makes this excited panting sound.

*  She makes this sound all the time that sounds like a cat hissing.  She does it when she's happy/excited.  If you hiss at her, she will hiss back, LOL.

* She's got THREE new teeth that all came in within a week's time!  (and a 3rd on the horizon):
- top, front (left) tooth broke through on 5/22  (central incisor, technically speaking!)
- top tooth (left) next to the front one broke through on 5/24. (lateral incisor)
- top, front (right) tooth broke through on 5/27. (central incisor)
*  She loves sitting up and riding like a big girl in the shopping cart.  She is so good, too...rarely fusses or cries.  She just enjoys the ride.  I think she must like to shop!  :-)
*  I don't know how I've failed to mention this until now, but we have a nickname that we call her all the time....Tooterbug!  Sometimes I just shorten it to Tooties or Toot Toot.  She probably thinks her name is Tooterbug because I think we call her that more than Aubrey!
*  She is still SO happy and smiles all the time.  She smiles at everyone, including complete strangers at the store.  However, don't even think about trying to hold her because she is still absolutely terrified of everyone but mom, dad, and brother.  Oh, and she's ok with my little sister, Courtney.  I'm not really sure why Courtney is the exception, though.  I don't think we really look alike...so who knows?!
*  She went to the beach for her very first vacation!  We went to Fort Morgan, AL (Gulf Shores) with Rhett's family for a week.  She did great!  She loved the sand but was afraid of the crashing waves, so we couldn't get too close to the ocean with her.  First beach trip meant first time out of Texas....through Louisiana, Mississippi, and then Alabama.

And now the pictures.....

Crawling training.  She hates it.

Sometimes she gets her knees under her, but that's as far as it goes.

This is usually how it ends....in tears.  Seriously, she gets so mad!

"Oh Mom, I give up!"

Zuccini is yum-o!  (and look at her peach fuzz....hair is still SLOWLY coming in!)

She loves Mum Mums and these little "rice cups" (Walmart brand/version of Mum Mums)
When she's in the highchair with snacks, Caleb isn't too far away.  You have to watch him or he will snatch them from her tray.  He calls them "baby snacks" ha!
We are working on picking up little things (like the yogurt drops) but so far, she just palms them and never tries to feed them to herself.

It took almost 10 months, but she has finally started rolling to her tummy and sleeping sometimes!

Don't be fooled by this photo - she is not actually trying to drink out of it.  She's faking it.  She is VERY resistant to cups of any kind...sippy, straw...she is not having it.  Heck, she will barely drink from a bottle.
Teething = lots of drool and spit bubbles!

She is a happy girl!

and she LOVES her brother....see how she looks at him?

and if he's by her, she wants to grab his shirt!

Love my sweet girl!
