Pregnancy Notes - Baby #3 1st Trimester

Here are some little notes I've been taking along the way to remember for this pregnancy!  I started out really well jotting stuff down, but then kinda fizzled mid-November.  I figured I'd post what I did write down anyway!  Sorry, no pictures as I still haven't taken any belly shots.  This is probably really boring for everyone else but me, but I'm posting it anyway.  :-)

* First positive pregnancy test on Friday, 9/21.  I woke up with some really bad sinus crud and I decided to test before I took anything....just to see!  It was actually pretty early to test but I still got a positive!  I didn't fully believe it though and we tried not to get too excited since it was so early.

* Second positive test on Monday, 9/24.  Yes, I only waited 3 days to re-test....I was so impatient!  Oddly though, as soon as I saw the positive, I also noticed that I was having some bleeding (sorry if TMI).  It wasn't a ton but still alarming.  This lasted for a few hours that morning and then stopped.

* Tuesday, 9/25, I had no bleeding throughout the daytime but noticed some more that evening/night.  It still wasn't much but I was also having symptoms like having my period (again, sorry if TMI but I have to document!).  I decided I'd call my doctor in the morning.

* Wednesday, 9/26, I called my doctor and she had me go for some bloodwork to check my hormone levels.  Luckily, we have a Labcorp just a few minutes away so I was able to go there instead of driving down to the med center.  Got my blood drawn and then waited.....

* Thursday, 9/27 - took another pregancy test just for good measure, LOL.  It was positive.  Until you've experienced this, you cannot laugh!

* Monday, 10/1 - called doctor's office because I was getting impatient waiting for the bloodwork results.  She said she'd call me back once Dr. Tran had looked at them.  She called back later and said my HCG was low but my progesterone was high.  The HCG being low was most likely b/c it was so early (I would have only been about 4 weeks) but the high progesterone is a good sign!  (oh, and no bleeding since Tues 9/25)

* Also on Monday, 10/1 - took another pregnancy test because I had one left and HAD to use it!  It was positive....starting to let myself believe I'm actually pregnant!  :-)

* Wednesday, 10/3 - queasy stomach started!!  (5 weeks, 2 days)

* Thursday, 10/4 - smelled some stinky trash and gagged, LOL.  Really started noticing smells!

* Friday, 10/5 - ALL DAY  nausea really kicked in.  Fun!

* Friday, 10/12 - went to my OBGYN for the first time this pregnancy.....mainly to get a prescription for nausea meds!  She did an ultrasound in the office and baby's heartbeat was good (don't remember what it was) and baby measured just right.  She did see one "off" thing and that was the gestational sac was scalloped instead of perfectly rounded.  She said most of the time when she sees this, it means that there has been a miscarriage.  However, everything else looked great so she said not to worry too much about it unless I started bleeding again.  I started taking promethazine every 4 hours (1/2 of a 25 mg tablet).

* Saturday, 10/13 - we went to pick up Rhett from the airport (he went to Nicaragua w/Living Water) and I was just a zombie all day.  Even just taking 1/2 a promethazine, I was just so sleepy!

* Monday, 10/15 (7 weeks) - called doctor's office to get them to call me in Zofran to try instead!  (hoping I wouldn't be so sleepy taking it)

* Zofran (8 mg twice a day) definitely helps, but unfortunately has another side effect that is not so fun (I'll go ahead and say it........it's constipation!).

*  I've had some random cravings this pregnancy!  One Sunday afternoon, I all of a sudden wanted a meatball sub from Subway so Rhett went and got me one.  It was like 3:30 in the afternoon, LOL.  Another weekday, I took a nap while the kids napped and I had a dream about pancakes.  When I woke up, I just HAD to have pancakes so we went to IHOP for dinner!

* I have been SO exhausted this pregnancy!!  I have ZERO energy to do anything.  Seriously, I feel bad about how messy our house is these days but I just don't have the energy or motivation to really clean.  I do just the bare minimum like loading the dishwasher and occasionally sweeping and vacuuming.  Laundry piles up on the couch, but I get that done about once a week.  Other than that, I don't do much else.  I definitely could not have company over to the house right now!  It's bad!

* I've been going to bed around 10pm......10:30pm at the latest.  This is very early for me!  Before, I was staying up until midnight or later. I'm a night owl but I just can't stay up late any more!  Several times, I have gone to bed at 9pm, which is just unheard of for me!

* Monday, 11/5 (10 weeks) - The nausea seems to be getting better.  I'm taking a Zofran in the morning and then a Phenergan at night, usually after dinner.  I can tell when the Zofran wears off in the afternoon, though, because I start to get nauseated again around 3-4pm.  I'm also starving and ready for dinner by this time so that doesn't help!  I push through without taking another Zofran, though, because it lessens the constipation if I only take one a day as opposed to two.

*  Thursday, 11/8 (10 weeks, 3 days) - I had my 10-week appointment today and Rhett went with me.  The nurse found the heartbeat right away and it was 161 bpm!  Dr. Tran wasn't going to do an ultrasound but I asked if she could since Rhett had come and also to check the gestational sac again (since it was scalloped at 6 weeks).  She said she wasn't worried about that since they found the heartbeat and I haven't had any bleeding, but she was fine doing the ultrasound.  The sac is no longer scalloped and everything looked great - praise the Lord!  The baby measured right at 10 weeks, so just a few days behind, which is ok.

*  Saturday, 11/10 - I feel like I've all-of-a-sudden starting "showing" this week.  However, I think anyone who doesn't know I'm pregnant would just think I had a bit of a gut!  I'm still fitting into my regular jeans, but I don't know for how much longer.  If it ever actually gets cold and stays cold, I'm going to have to buy some long-sleeved/cold weather maternity stuff this time around.  I haven't had to with the other two because I didn't need maternity clothes until the spring months.

* Gradually stopped having to take my nausea meds around 13-14 weeks!  Also started getting some energy back around this time.
