23 weeks

I went to my OB appointment this past Friday and found out that I've gained 8 pounds over the last month! Yikes! My doctor thinks my total weight gain is ok at this point...but she said if I come back next month and I've packed on another 8 pounds, we could have more of a problem. Apparently, one pound a week is ok, but 2 pounds per week is too much! She already thinks that Caleb might be a big boy (due to his estimated weight at my last appointment). She said that if I gain too much weight myself, that increases the likelihood that he will be even bigger. Rhett was a big baby (almost 9 lbs), so I'm thinking Caleb just might be taking after his daddy in terms of size! I am a little concerned, but not worried at this point. I mean, I have just started noticeably growing over the last month so to me, it seems logical that I would put on more weight than in the previous months. At all my other appointments, I gained about 4 pounds each month. I did forget to mention that I have had quite the sweet tooth this month...so maybe that has something to do with it?? I don't know. I am going to try to lay off the ice cream, cake, and candy and see what happens. (starting tomorrow...b/c today I've already had a Reese's peanut butter cup, a piece of pound cake, and half of a peanut butter cookie. Some kids at our church were having a bake sale...I couldn't turn them down! haha!)

Here's my weekly picture:

23 weeks, 5 days:

And here's a picture of some little outfits I bought for Caleb this weekend. I know, you're not supposed to go crazy buying clothes b/c that is one thing people like to give as gifts...but I couldn't help it! I had a $10 Kohl's Cash card, so I started out at Kohl's...and spent a little more than $10. :o) Rhett pointed out that every outfit I bought at Kohl's had an animal of some sort on it (puppies are my personal favorite!), and asked where the cars, trucks, and baseball outfits were. So...I went to Target and picked up a few more to satisfy his requests!

Saturday, I went to a friend/co-worker's baby shower. (I need to get some pics from the shower emailed to me, so pics to follow later). Jaime is one of my pharmacy technicians at BCP. I am so excited for her & her hubby to have their baby girl in May! They are keeping her name a secret, so I am anxious to find out what they picked. Between October of last year and August of this year, a total of six "Babies of BCP" have/will be born. Jaime's is #4, then another tech is due just a few weeks after her, then I will be next in August. We joke that there is "something in the water" at work! Well, there must be something in the water at church, too b/c right now there are 7 girls pregnant in my Sunday school class! (and 3 babies already born this year). Wow!

While I was at the shower, Rhett went to church to play in a dodgeball tournament. It was hosted by the youth to raise money for a mission trip. Apparently, there were only 3 adult teams and the rest were middle school kids and maybe some younger high school kids. Our class team ended up winning and got a huge trophy, LOL! He said that the middle school team they played in the finals was actually really good. I just keep picturing grown men (and women) wailing all over a bunch of pre-pubescent kids, haha! So needless to say, Rhett is a little sore today!

This Thursday, we are leaving to go on a mini-vacation to San Antonio! Rhett's parents are going to be in Fredericksburg for several nights this week, and they are actually going to meet up with us in SA on Thursday for an extended weekend trip. I am excited to get away for a few nights, but probably even more excited to have some time off from work! We were originally going to board the mutts (for the 1st time ever!), but decided to see if my little sis could come watch them instead. Luckily, she can come on Friday and will stay through Sunday so we don't have to board them. Our friends Jenn & Jarod are going to keep them for us on Thursday night. I was actually nervous to leave them at a boarding place, so I was relieved to be able to work something else out. (not to mention, boarding is expensive!) I would much rather pay Courtney to stay here w/them...and they love Aunt Courtney! :o)

Well, I guess that's all for now. Next week's post will include our San Antonio trip, so stay tuned!
