Anyway, Caleb has become quite the acrobat lately. He really likes to wiggle & squirm while mommy is trying to go to sleep. He has a pretty powerful kick and punch, and it is funny to see my belly jump when he really gets moving! We have just about 3 months left until his arrival and I am already getting impatient! I'm ready to meet him & to introduce him to his four-legged brothers and sister. I really wonder how they are going to react. It should be interesting! I am also ready to be a stay-at-home mom. Last week was my last 5-day work week...yay! From here on out, I will have at least one day off each week. Through June, I will work 4 days a week and then starting in July through the 24th, I will work 3 days a week. July 24th will be my last day at BCP. I may try to work "PRN" for them starting next year...we'll see how everything goes at home & if/when/how much they need me. It will depend on a lot of different things. So anyway, when I leave I'll be nearly 37 weeks at that time, so depending on when he is born I will have anywhere from 1-3 weeks off before becoming a mommy. Can't wait! Here's this week's pic...
26 weeks, 5 days:
Saturday, we drove down to Pearland to see my nephews play baseball. Luke (4) plays t-ball and it is so cute to watch! He actually got the "game ball" for making several outs at home plate...way to go Luke! He was very excited. Jake (10) plays kid pitch and his team ended up winning like 16-0. They actually called the game before the official time limit. Jake got a good hit and also made a great catch playing 2nd base. I love watching little league baseball (in addition to my Astros addiction!). We really hope that Caleb likes baseball too! Here is a pic w/the nephews. Apparently, I chose the right color to wear that day. Rhett, however, did not get the memo.
After all the baseball excitement, we drove back into H-Town for our Sunday school "field day and praise night" event. Our small group (Bible study group) is in charge of hosting a prayer/praise night, but we always like to do it with a little twist. Last fall, we did a city-wide scavenger hunt followed by praise/worship music led by some of our very own talented musicians of the class. This spring, we decided to do a field day. The weather was threatening, but we managed to get in 3 outdoor events before it rained. We started with a version of capture the flag involving hitting opponents w/a sock filled with flour. The second event was a relay consisting of a 4-legged race (3 people tied together) and a dizzy bat spin/egg carry. The last event was a water balloon toss (followed by a water balloon fight!). I was not really able to participate, but it was fun watching and laughing at everyone! Afterwards, we headed to the Hill's house for food, fellowship, and music. It was a great night! Here are some pics I took...unfortunately, they aren't the best. I didn't want to get too close and risk being smoked by a flour-filled sock or water balloon! :o)
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention...my wonderfully awesome, loving and kind husband nearly lost his wedding ring. We think it fell off during the water balloon fight that ensued after the water balloon toss. He discovered it was missing when we got back to the Hill's house. I wanted to cry. We went back to the park and walked all over the place looking for it. It started raining and the temperature dropped a good bit so it wasn't exactly the most ideal conditions. Just when we were about to give up, Rhett found it!! What an answer to prayers! I think I would have cried myself to sleep that night if we hadn't found it. The moral of the story is: don't get in a water balloon fight with your wedding ring on.
Well, it's getting really late now & I'm going to head to bed. Tomorrow, I have to do my gestational diabetes screening...I think that is a pregnancy milestone. It's hard to believe that in just a few months, we will have a son!

Wow - You have been busy! How exciting that you are down to 4 days a week of work. I am sure this was a milestone you were very much looking forward too! I hope you and Rhett enjoyed his birthday yesterday and that the glucose drink wasn't too bad!
