Trying his hardest to get out a laugh!
Smiling at Rio...aww!
"Daddy is teaching me how to sit like a man when Mommy's not looking!"
"Just chillin' with my teddy bear..."
"Whoa! Mom, do you really think I can hold myself up?!"
"I'll charm the ladies with my smile!" (wish this one didn't turn out blurry, it's so cute!)
"Mommy says I got chicken legs just like Daddy. I don't know what she's talking about, but I sure do like to kick my chicken legs!"
At 2 months, Caleb...
...weighed in at 9 lbs 4 oz (3rd %), 22 inches long (5th %), and has a head circumference in 10-15th percentile. We call him our skinny mini!
...has mild reflux and is currently on 7.5mg of Zantac twice daily.
...is smiling such a handsome smile! He started smiling around 6 weeks of age and he gets more and more "smiley" every day!
...is trying his hardest to laugh. It is so cute! He opens his mouth really wide and you can tell he's trying to get a sound out. Sometimes, it comes out as a little squeak!
...LOVES his bouncy seat, especially the little orange monkey that hangs from it. It's so fun to watch him kicking his legs and pumping his arms to make himself bounce!
...also loves his activity mat, especially the elephant rattle. I think he's trying to touch some of the hanging down toys...at least that's what I think. He slowly reaches out and taps them with his fist. He still likes to keep his hands balled up in a fist most of the time, and he will grab onto things put in his hand most of the time.
...doesn't really like tummy time all that much. He can lift his head a little, but I think he gets frustrated.
...is starting to hold up and control his head a little better when you put him on your shoulder.
...is still nursing every 3 hours, with the occasional 2.5 hour interval. At night, he will sometimes make it 4 hours after the midnight feeding but is not consistent with this yet. Hopefully he will get better with this as I would really appreciate some extra sleep!
...will sleep just fine in his crib at night. He is pretty consistent with falling right back to sleep after eating. It's been a while since we were really up with him a lot at night.
...does not, however like to take naps in his crib during the day! At first, I was so adamant about him napping in his crib but he would wake up crying and would not go back to sleep in there. I didn't want him to need his bouncy or swing to sleep, but I finally gave in and now I let him nap wherever he falls asleep. I have to, otherwise I will never get a minute of rest or time to do things around the house. For the most part, he naps in his bouncy seat during the day...occasionally the swing. He seems to sleep the longest if I put his bouncy in our bedroom with the fan turned on (we use a small, oscillating fan for noise).
...seems to be in the best mood in the morning. After our first feeding at 6am or 7am, he is so happy and smiling! He is at other times throughout the day, but just seems happier early in the morning. (I don't know where he gets this from!)
...is the most fussy between ~8pm to 9pm or so. That's when Daddy gets him! :o)
...is starting to notice his puppies a little more. They could care less about him. Occasionally, they will sniff him, but not nearly as much as I thought they would.
...loves to stare at the ceiling fan in the living room. I have heard lots of babies do this...so funny!
...will "talk" to you with coos and other cute baby noises...I love it!
...seems to do more with his left hand than his right. hmm??
...takes 3 ounces from a bottle at least once a day (with Daddy!). He is starting to want more sometimes so we are on our way to 3.5 or 4 ounces soon, I think.
...goes to small group/Bible study with Mommy and Daddy every week and sleeps in his car seat the whole time. He has been to Sunday school a few times, but we have yet to make it to church yet because it is so hard with his feeding schedule.
...seems to be ok with his bath...doesn't seem to love it or hate it.
...likes to take his pacifier when he gets sleepy.
...is the sweetest, most handsome little boy ever! :o)
