Weekend Recap

We had another great weekend! Saturday morning, Caleb stayed home with Daddy while I went to a baby shower for a girl in my Sunday school class. This was a princess themed shower, so not quite what I have become used to being the mommy of a little boy! (lots of PINK!) This is the first girl shower we have had in a long time. We were encouraged to come in pink, but if you know me, you know I don't do pink. The closest thing I have to pink is a plum/purple/maroonish colored shirt that I actually just bought last week...so that's what I had to go with. It was such a cute shower, though and I had a great time! Brooke and Randy will welcome baby Abigail in December (a good month to be born!). *sorry, didn't take any pics*

On Friday, I decided that I really wanted Caleb to have a little pair of blue jeans and some overalls for pictures. While Rhett went grocery shopping on Saturday afternoon, Caleb and I went to the outlet mall nearby and shopped a little. The weather was absolutely perfect for being at an outdoor mall. I found him a pair of jeans at Osh Kosh and some overalls at Carter's. He wore his little jeans for his 2 month pictures today and was absolutely adorable! I think I'll put him in his overalls for pumkin patch pictures this week! We wrapped up the day with dinner at Pappadeaux...mmm!

This morning we finally made it to both church AND Sunday school, which was a miracle! It is a bit of a challenge to get ready and out the door on time (for anything) with Caleb in tow. I'm getting better, though and with Rhett's help we got out the door and to church ON TIME today...not a minute late!! We went to the church nursery and signed Caleb up for their childcare. I had to fight back the tears after leaving my little boy there. It felt so strange and to be honest, I could not really focus during worship for thinking about him being up there without us. I'm assuming this is normal...right?! :o) Even Rhett admitted that he had a bit of "separation anxiety" himself. Well, I had to nurse him around 10:15am anyway, so he was only in the nursery for 30 minutes. I stayed in the chapel for worship, then went to pick him up and headed to the nursing room. They broadcast the sermon on a little TV in the nursing room, so that was good. Until he can go longer between daytime feedings, this will have to be our routine. I went ahead and took him to Sunday school with me since he's pretty quiet right now. Once he gets older and more active, he will have to stay in the nursery while we're in class. All in all, the morning went well and I think it will get easier to leave him in childcare eventually.

This afternoon, we headed to the mall for Caleb's 2 month/Halloween photos. I get various coupons for specials at the Picture People, so we used one of their coupons to get a free 8x10 and 20% off the rest of our order. Halloween isn't that big of a deal to us, but we just thought it would be cute to get a pic of him in his costume for his very first Halloween. I figured I'd get a regular 2-month picture while we were there, so we did that too. I will do a separate post with pictures from today!

Well, that's about all. It was a busy but fun weekend. We are taking Caleb to a pumpkin patch on Tuesday afternoon, so stay tuned for those pictures! Hope everyone has a great week!
