Six Months Old!

I never got this post written before we had to rush to Woodville. My head is still in a fog, so I'm sure I am forgetting something but here is what I could recall.....

At 6 months, Caleb...

...weighs exactly 15 lbs and is 26 inches long. Still a little guy but on the growth charts, so we’re happy!

...is finally napping in his crib after a couple of weeks fighting mommy on this. He finally started napping for longer stretches of time when he figured out how to roll onto his tummy…guess he is more comfortable that way. He will usually nap for 2 hours in the morning, then about an hour after lunch, then another 45 min to an hour in the early evening.

…is going to bed at an earlier time now. He is usually in bed by 9-9:15pm, which is an hour or so earlier than his previous bedtime. I am reading “Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child” and this is one of the suggestions from that book that we are trying. So far, it is working out well. Eventually, we would like to have him in bed even earlier but we are slowly working that way. He really does start to get sleepy around 7:30pm.

…is sleeping on his tummy at night now (in addition to naptime). He will NOT sleep on his back anymore. If you put him on his back, he will roll to his side or to his tummy in a matter of minutes.

...is still nursing every 3-4 hours during the day. He eats 5 times a day now, usually around 7:30am, 11:30am, 2:30pm, 5:30pm, and 8:30pm give or take 30 minutes each time.

...is still sleeping through the night on MOST nights!!! Usually about once a week he will wake up during the night.

...has finally figured out how to roll onto his tummy, although he will only roll to his right. We joke that he is not an “ambi-roller” yet! (only funny if you’ve seen the movie, Zoolander…)

…stayed with a babysitter other than his grandparents for the first time. Our friends, Josh and Grace, watched him for us while we went on a date for Valentine’s Day. They said he was a perfect angel and hopefully they are telling the truth! :o)

...is still the sweetest, most handsome little boy ever!
