Things I Don't Want to Forget!

Caleb is so funny these days...especially some of the things he says!  Since I'm not doing monthly posts anymore, I will have to be better about just posting funny things about him.  This is such a fun age!(minus the tantrums)  So, here are some funny and sweet things about our boy...

*  He's got a nursery rhyme book that he likes and one of the rhymes is the "1, 2 buckle my shoe.  3, 4 shut the door..." one (whatever it's called) - we sing it instead of just saying it.  When you sing the numbers part, he can reply with the second part and he's got such a sweet little singing voice, I love it!  He says:
1, 2 - "bucky shoe"  (buckle my shoe)
3, 4 - "shut da doe"  (shut the door)
5, 6 - "pick up tick"  (pick up sticks)
7, 8 - "lay straight"  (lay them straight)
9, 10 - "big fat hen"  (he says that one correctly)

*  When we correct Caleb and he doesn't obey, we then give him until the count of 3 to do what we've asked.  Usually by the count of 2, he will stop whatever he's doing.  The other day he was standing and jumping on the couch and when I told him to stop, he didn't.  So I started counting "one....two...."  and Caleb sings in his sweetest voice, "bucky shoe!"  It was one of those moments where you're getting onto your kid and they do something funny and it's so hard not to laugh!

*  When we sit down for dinner, he always wants to hold hands and say the "beffing" (blessing).  Several times now when we are playing in his room with Aubrey with us, he's grabbed both her hands, mumbled something and then said "amen!"  How sweet is that?!

*  When Rhett gets home from work, Caleb always runs straight to the garage door and screams "daddy's home!" and now he has started knocking on the inside of the door, LOL.

*  If he starts throwing a fit and he won't stop, we send him to his room and tell him he can come out when he's all done throwing a fit.  When he's done, he comes out and says "all done throw fit!"  The first time he did that, I could not stop laughing.

*  One evening a couple weeks ago, he was throwing a fit and we sent him to his room.  He carried on for a while and then abruptly stopped, came out of his room and said "Ruff Ruff?  Ruff Ruff?" in a really sad voice and searched for Ruff Ruff.  Once he found him, he went back into his room, shut the door and started crying again, LOL.

*  I have to nurse Aubrey and also pump with Caleb around.  I cannot do either in private because Caleb would either hurt himself or get into things he's not supposed to be in.  That's life with a newborn and a toddler who gets into everything.  The other day, I told Caleb that I needed to go pump (as if he knows what that means) but then I got caught up in doing something else so I didn't get to do it right away.  After a few minutes, Caleb tells me "Mama, go pump."  haha!  Now everytime he sees me getting the pumping stuff out, he says that!

*  Ok, here's another pumping story.  (this might be TMI but if I don't record it, I might eventually forget it and it is too funny)  I was getting set up to pump yesterday and Caleb came up to me, grabbed one of the flanges and helped me to hold it in place for a good 30 seconds, LOL.  I laughed so hard!  Yeah, it's kinda weird but what do you do - he's going to be curious about all of this new stuff going on!

*  And finally, as I was sitting here typing this up (with Aubrey laying next to me in her lounger), Caleb comes up and says "hold hands", grabs both of Aubrey's hands and then starts singing "Happy Birthday" to her.  He really is a sweet boy and he loves his sister!
