{34 Weeks} - Reese
No belly pic this week. I really meant to do it this morning before church, but we found ourselves rushing around to get out the door so there was no time. Then after church, we went to Magnolia for Rhett’s work picnic they have ever year. By the time we got home it was nearly 6pm and then after we got the kids fed and in bed, I showered…..and then realized I hadn’t taken a pic! Oh well.
How Far Along: 34 weeks, 6 days
Size of baby: weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. (according to www.babycenter.com)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 36 lbs as of my 34 week appointment
Movement: Her movements have slowed down some….probably b/c she’s running out of room!
Sleep: I seriously get up to go to the bathroom like 6 times a night….so not the greatest sleep going on around here!
Symptoms: contractions, more swelling, and heartburn!!
What I miss: Going more than 30 minutes without peeing, ha!
Cravings: chocolate!! specifically Kit Kats, which is not normally my first choice.
Best moment this week: *WARNING: if you don’t want to read about my cervix, then skip this section, LOL*
Not getting put on bed rest like I did with Aubrey at 34 weeks – woohoo! I had my 34 week appointment on Thursday and I am 1 1/2 cm dilated, 70% effaced, – 2 station (has to do with where the baby’s head is in the pelvis… range is – 4 (just entering) to + 4 (ready to be born)), but she said my cervix is firm (not soft) which is a good thing. Baby is head down (has been since around 32 weeks) and she could feel the her head! I think that is just crazy….and kinda gross, haha! No bedrest, but she said I need to take it easy – no all day errands, house cleaning, or kid chasing. I’ve been trying, but not gonna lie, I have been running errands b/c there are some last minutes things I need to get/do before this baby arrives! Still cleaning as much as I can tolerate and obviously I still have to take care of the kids…..I’m just trying not to overdo it, I guess. Until she tells me that I absolutely cannot do these things, then I have to keep doing some stuff…..otherwise this house is going to fall apart and really stress me out!! I’m already a little stressed over the nursery situation. It’s a wreck and I still can’t really do anything until I have somewhere to put her stuff. Rhett has been too busy at work to finish the closet stuff and the dresser is still in Aubrey’s room (can’t move it until I clear the room of all the boxes). I know it’s not the end of the world, but it’s still bothering me! I think I have ordered/bought most of the things I needed for her (diapers, some nursing stuff, etc) except for a video monitor.
What I am looking forward to: Since we know I am having some contractions and I have already started to dilate, she is having me come in weekly now. I have my 35 week appointment on Thursday, so I’m anxious to see if anything has changed.
