Christmas 2009

Caleb was a very good boy in 2009 (both in mommy's tummy AND out!), so Santa brought him a really cool jumperoo and a musical cookie jar. Here he is trying out his jumperoo on Christmas morning. He's not quite big enough to fully enjoy it, but we're getting there.

I love the look on his face in this picture!

And here is our family of three in front of the tree on Christmas morning...Caleb's very first Christmas!

After checking out what Santa brought, we got on the road and headed to Mimi and G-Dad's house in Baton Rouge. We stopped once to feed Caleb, so the trip took a little longer than normal. I squeezed in the backseat with Caleb in case he wigged out during our drive. We folded down part of the backseat to give the dogs more room, and Rio tried to sit in my lap for most of the trip. Needless to say, I was not all that comfortable. We had the Murano PACKED OUT with all of our stuff...mostly stuff for Caleb, of course. I don't think we could have fit one more thing in there. Our next vehicle will be larger! We made it there safe and sound just in time for the Dotson family Christmas.

Here is a picture of Mimi and G-Dad with both of their grandsons. Cal will be 2 years old in April.

Cal looks a lot like Travis and Rhett, so we joke that he looks more like Rhett than Caleb does! What can I say? I gave birth to a little "mini me" but he did get Rhett's lips. :o)

My sweetie pie, a little blinded by the flash...

Cal playing with the Mega Blocks table we got him...

Caleb was so pooped, he fell asleep holding onto one of his new toys...

Rhett got some more books (surprise!) and a smoker. Hopefully he will be smoking us some delicious meat in the near future! (although, the smoker would not fit in the Murano with the rest of our belongings, so Rhett's parents will have to bring it to us the next time they come to Houston). I got two new cookbooks, two cute aprons, and the new Shane and Shane CD! One of the cookbooks is the Pioneer Woman Cooks...super exciting!! (love her blog!)

Saturday, we all went out to eat lunch at a restaurant in BR called Chimes. Then, Saturday night Rhett and I went on part one of a date...went to see Avatar in 3D and it was awesome...highly recommend it! Love having free babysitting! :o)

Sunday, we went to church so some of their church friends could meet Caleb. Then after church, we went to eat lunch with Rhett's grandmother. Sunday night, we went out to eat pizza for part two of our date.

Then Monday morning, we rolled out and headed back home to Houston! It was a great trip and we enjoyed spending time with the Dotson side of the family.

Here are pictures from our visit with Rhett's grandmother, and some from Sunday evening.

The whole fam at Grandmom's house (Rhett's grandmother, his mom's mom) the Sunday after Christmas.

Caleb was tired and hungry at this point. Can you tell?

Cousins - Cal and Caleb

Cal loving on Caleb...so sweet

Oh, and Megan (Rhett's sister) got their parents a beagle for Christmas...the gift that keeps on giving! His name is Tex. Poor Tag - he had a horrible weekend between the puppy and Cal running around, his nerves were fried. I think he might have eaten once the entire time we were there. Rio was really the only one who would even remotely play with Tex, and just as Roux and Tag do, Tex took the ball away and taunted Rio. Rio lives a tormented life.
