The last two weekends, we traveled to Woodville for Rhett to help my dad build a front porch/deck on their house. This is right up Rhett's alley! He planned everything out and was the "contractor" so-to-speak. My dad said he was a slave-driver, LOL. They got a lot done in two weekends but still need to put the railing on and also the roof. We have a few busy weekends in Houston coming up, so we will go back to Woodville at the end of May for them to (hopefully) finish! Here are some pics...
The first weekend, they (mostly Rhett) dug the holes for the support posts and filled them with concrete.
The second weekend, they framed out the deck, put on the surface and trim boards, and built the stairs.
Caleb, my mom, and I mostly just hung out around the house. Occasionally, we would go outside to watch all the action. The weather was beautiful both weekends!
