Ten Months Old!

At 10 months old, Caleb...

...weighs 21 lbs 8 oz and is 29.1 inches long (at GI appt on 6/18).

...wears 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers (size 4 at night).

...is still taking 2 naps a day. Both naps are usually between 1 and 2 hours long. He's gotten much better at putting himself to sleep and if he cries, it's usually only for a few minutes now.

...goes to bed between 7:30 and 8pm still, but I think we might be moving his bedtime up to 7pm eventually. It seems like he's starting to get really tired and cranky around 7pm and having a harder time making it past 7:30pm. He still takes a paci for naps and at night.

...is still drinking formula every 4 hours during the day (so 4 times/day) and eating solids for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He's drinking 6-8 oz per bottle.

...tried many new foods this month: cheerios, bread/toast, ground beef, roast beef, brisket, watermelon, mixed berry yogurt melts, and blueberry puffs. We re-tried: avocado (still won't eat), peaches (ok with), chicken (this time, tiny pieces instead of pureed & he liked it).

LIKES: butternut squash, sweet potatoes, green beans, peas, carrots, yellow and green zucchini squash, any kind of juice, any kind of cereal, pears, apples, prunes, nilla wafers, peaches, cheerios, bread/toast, ground beef, roast beef, brisket, chicken, yogurt melts, and blueberry puffs. DISLIKES: avocado and bananas.

...is drinking from a straw cup now. He picked up drinking from a straw really fast. I'm trying to get him to drink his milk from his straw cup, but not having much luck. He will drink 2-3 ounces and then throw the cup on the floor and refuse to drink the rest. He does much better with juice or water, though. He's still just "ok" at drinking from a sippy cup, but in his defense, we don't work on it that much.

...still mostly just says "dadada" and sometimes "bababa" but no "mamama" yet!

...loves toys that play songs and light up. His favorites right now are his musical Winnie the Pooh book and his musical Shapes & Colors book. He plays with those a LOT and Rhett and I always have the songs stuck in our heads!

...has 6 teeth (4 on top and 2 on bottom). The 2 newest ones are on top and are not all the way out yet, but they have broken the surface.

...started army crawling and inch worming on 5/27. He only did this for about a week and a half then started crawling on 6/7. Now he's all over the place!

...started pulling up on things on 6/7, the day he started crawling. He also figured out how to get from a sitting position to crawling on that day, too.

...started clapping on 6/12. He used to "clap" by hitting his legs but now he can do a real clap by hitting his hands together.

...had another episode of croup at the end of May, but this time he only coughed for one night and started feeling better quickly. This was the third time since February that he's had croup.

...went through about two weeks of "stranger anxiety" but he seems ok now. He was afraid of Rhett's parents and our friend Jarod over Memorial Day weekend. Then he cried for the first time when we dropped him off at the church nursery on 6/6. Since then, he seems to be fine around "strangers" so hopefully that won't happen much anymore.

...is still the sweetest, most handsome little boy ever!
