Thanksgiving 2011

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house again this year!  This was the 3rd year in a row and I must say, it is nice not to have to travel anywhere.  Rhett did about half the cooking this year.  His mom and sister did the other half in Magnolia and brought it over.  That made Rhett's job a lot easier this time around!  From Rhett's family, we had Mr. Rich, Mrs. Donna (his parents), Megan and Mark (his sister & her husband).  From my family, we had my mom and dad, Stephanie (older sister), Kyle (BIL), Jake, Luke (cousins), Courtney (younger sister), and my aunt Jackie (mom's sister) and uncle Bill.  I really didn't get too many pictures and sad to say that I didn't get an official "my first Thanksgiving" picture of Aubrey.  I did get a few of her and they show just what she thought of Thanksgiving and having all of these {loud} people in her house - ha!  She was fussy, which is not like her at all.  I think she was a little overwhelmed.  Somehow, I managed to not get even one picture with Rhett's family.  Oops!  I promise it is nothing against them....I really don't know how that happened.

A few days before Thanksgiving, I did this little project with Caleb.  I found this coloring sheet online (wish I'd saved the link, but I can't find it.  thought I pinned it, but guess not).  It says "I'm Thankful For..." and then you fill in the blanks.  He is really too young to truly understand what being thankful means, so I couldn't just ask him outright and get an answer.  Instead, I prayed with him like we do at night saying "thank you, God, for....." and he will rattle off a list of people and things!  Like I said, I know he doesn't really know the true meaning of being thankful, but you have to start somewhere, right?  It is so sweet to hear him praying and thanking God for his family, friends...and toys and random things around his room, LOL!  I know that God hears his sweet prayers even when he doesn't fully comprehend what praying is all about or what exactly he is saying.  ANYWAY!  Sorry, I got off on a tangent there.  So, we said "Dear God, we thank you for....... Jesus, Bible, Colson, Daddy, school, Andrew, church!"    I love how his first two answers were Jesus and the Bible!  Colson and Andrew are friends from school that he talks about all the time.  Mama did not make the cut, but that's ok....for now anyway.  :-)

He does most things with his left hand...

...but he will also use his right hand, too.  We are wondering if he will be ambidextrous like his Uncle Josh.

I asked him to hold up the paper and smile for the camera, and this is what I got...
