Now for the pictures....
feeding the animals
Caleb had a blast...he was in his element with all the animals!
Don't remember what these things are, but that one there took our food bucket! The tour guide said it happens from time to time and advised us not to put up a fight for the bucket...just to let it go!
These things were so crazy looking...some kind of 4-horned sheep/ram. Supposedly they were around during biblical days.
Their ostriches were actually pretty tame....unlike the ones we encountered a couple years ago at the drive-through safari near San Antonio. This one was getting a feast, being fed by Steph, Luke, AND Courtney!
They have 5 giraffes, including a little baby (not sure how old - maybe I should have listened better)
Ok, this things horns were massive! Rhett might have gotten lightly tapped by one of them when he swung his head around...
Luke had a bad ostrich encounter during their last visit so he was a little "ostrich-shy" at first...
But he warmed up...
I've always thought zebras were so cool looking. They had quite a few of them, but they would not eat out of our buckets (the ones in SA do).
Caleb and Luke took a liking to this camel
and I'm pretty sure he liked them too...or maybe it was just the food!
Caleb will pet anything, small or large!
After the tram-ride, we went to the petting zoo. Here's Luke and a sheep.
Caleb was on the wrong end of this goat...and of course, he had to grab it's tail!
family pic :)
Luke (6) and Jake (almost 12)
Caleb the gorilla
Luke the giraffe and Jake the....antelope?
After the petting zoo, Caleb and Luke rode the ponies. At first, Caleb was unsure but I think it had more to do with daddy handing him over to this strange lady. He was not afraid of the pony.
getting acquainted with the pony
Luke went first (Caleb is in the background)
I think he was proud of himself!
