27 Weeks - Aubrey

We are on vacation in Panama City Beach, FL this week!  Caleb is napping right now, so I figured I'd go ahead and do my weekly post.  When I'm done, I'm going to lay in bed and read in the peace and quiet and enjoy not having to clean or do laundry for the time being!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 27 weeks, 5 days

Size of baby: weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended (according to babycenter.com)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I've gained 22.5 lbs total as of my appointment this past Thursday.  So, this means I gained 7 lbs between my 23 and 27 week appointments - yikes.

Maternity Clothes: of course!

Gender: girl - Aubrey Lauren

Movement:  Still seems to be about the same - I think she moves more in the evening hours.  Honestly, because I'm so busy chasing Caleb around and tending to him, I don't think I'm as aware of her movements throughout the day as I was with Caleb's (sitting at a desk most of the day).  A lot of times, I get to the end of the day and think that she has not moved all day...but really I just don't think I'm paying close enough attention.  I should probably get better about that!

Sleep: Not much has changed here...still having to get up to go to the bathroom several times a night, so I never really feel like I get a solid night's sleep anymore. Also, I just cannot get very comfortable at night now. Maybe I am a wimp...I don't know...but it is difficult and at times even painful to turn myself over in bed.

Symptoms: still mostly the same....having to pee all.the.time; starving and having to snack more; no reflux or Braxton Hicks contractions this week.  I am having a lot more aches and pains this time around and I talked to my doctor about it again this week (because they've been pretty bothersome these past few weeks) - she says it is completely normal b/c all the supportive ligaments and such were stretched out during my first pregnancy (nice!) and therefore just aren't quite as supportive any more.

What I miss: right now, I am mostly missing being able to sleep on my back and not having the aches and pains!

Cravings: still pretty much the same...any fruit, ice cream, other sweets, juice...probably why I gain so much weight! :)  I finally got that mocha coconut frappuchino from Starbucks and it was awesome! I found out that you can get the frapps in decaf now so that was a bonus!

Best moment this week:  hearing Aubrey's heartbeat on Thursday (145 bpm) and passing my 1-hour glucose test!!  In celebration, I am eating all the ice cream I want this week while we are on vacation!!

What I am looking forward to:  eating all the ice cream I want while we are on vacation this week!  :-)
