30 Weeks - Aubrey
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 30 weeks, 5 days
Size of baby: about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). (according to babycenter.com)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I've gained 23.5 lbs total as of my appointment on Thursday. I only gained 1 lb between 27 and 30 weeks, which is very surprising considering all the ice cream I ate on vacation (and since)!! At this point, I don't think I'll gain as much as I did with Caleb...hopefully not anyway!
Maternity Clothes: of course!
Gender: girl - Aubrey Lauren
Movement: she's still moving a lot and especially at night when I lay down for bed. She's been doing all kinds of flips and somersaults in there!
Sleep: pretty terrible, actually. I just cannot get comfortable and my hips hurt so much from laying only on my sides. and let's not forget how many times I have to get up to go to the bathroom....it's rediculous!
Symptoms: most of this week, I felt decent....and then I mopped the kitchen on Friday, painted some of Caleb's bed on Sunday, and walked for over 2 hours in the mall today, and I am paying for it now. We just have a lot of stuff that needs to be done and Rhett is so busy at work right now. I'm tired and it doesn't take much to wear me out! I will say, though, at this point with Caleb I was having the sciatic nerve pain and starting PT, and I had been swelling for quite some time. I am thankful that I haven't had those issues yet this time!
What I miss: Having energy to wrangle Caleb, sleeping on my back, not peeing every 30 minutes, not waddling when I walk, being able to bend over without a lot of effort...the list goes on, ha! (but I wouldn't have it any other way)
Cravings: eh, not really any true cravings but I have really been wanting some watermelon (too bad I forgot to put it on the grocery list!)
Best moment this week: hearing Aubrey's heartbeat (155 bpm) at my appointment on Thursday. Also, related to my appointment - Dr. Tran wants to do an ultrasound at 37 weeks to try to estimate how big/small Aubrey will be. Since my tear/epesiotomy was so bad with Caleb (who weighed 7 lb 11 oz) and they had to use forceps to get him out, she is just concerned that something similar might happen again. If they estimate she is over 8.5 lbs, then she recommends a c-section (which I do not want b/c I will have to be completely knocked out since the epidural/spinal doesn't work all the way for me). If she's 8.5 lbs or less then we will try for regular delivery but will not go over 39 weeks (induction). SO, we should be meeting Aubrey in 9 weeks or less! It would be nice if I would go into labor on my own between 37-39 weeks!
*also, unrelated to Aubrey - I got my very first pedicure on Saturday! I went with some girls in my small group and it was amazing! It was at a pedi-spa and a more "high-end" pedicure so maybe not a good idea for my first one - now I am expecting a lot! :-)
What I am looking forward to: getting Caleb's "big boy room" set up (well, the bed at least) next weekend (after we get the carpets cleaned on Friday). We have one coat of paint on the bed and will finish it before the weekend so we can move it into his room! We will also be painting Aubrey's room and moving the nursery furniture in there!

I can't believe Aubrey will be here so soon! That's so exciting! Hang in there mama, you don't have to waddle much longer. SOOOO glad you got to enjoy your pedicure and treat yourself. Maybe it can become a habit?
