31 Weeks - Aubrey
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 31 weeks, 5 days
Size of baby: measures over 16 inches long and weighs about 3.3 pounds (like carrying four navel oranges) (according to babycenter.com)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I've gained 23.5 lbs total as of my appointment at 30 weeks.
Maternity Clothes: of course! and I feel like some of them (mainly pants/shorts) are getting tighter and less comfortable, but I don't really want to go buy anymore since we only have like 6-8 weeks left. So, if you see me and my pants look too tight...please don't say anything, ha!
Gender: girl - Aubrey Lauren
Movement: she's still moving a lot and especially at night when I lay down for bed. She's been doing all kinds of flips and somersaults in there!
Sleep: no change here - sleep is pretty terrible, actually. I just cannot get comfortable and my hips hurt so much from laying only on my sides. and let's not forget how many times I have to get up to go to the bathroom....it's rediculous! I did buy a "maternity wedge" pillow to help support my belly at night and I guess it helps some.
Symptoms: HEARTBURN! (actually, I had some of that last week and forgot to mention it). Still having all the fun aches and pains, peeing all the time (sometimes it seems like every 30 minutes I have to go), tiredness, and pretty sure I'm nesting (does that count as a symptom?!).
What I miss: no change here - Having energy to wrangle Caleb, sleeping on my back, not peeing every 30 minutes, not waddling when I walk, being able to bend over without a lot of effort...the list goes on, ha! (but I wouldn't have it any other way)
Cravings: eh, not really any true cravings that I can think of. My stomach doesn't quite have the room it used to have being squished upwards so I don't feel like I'm eating as much right now (not that I'm not hungry, just can't eat as much)...but I will say that I could still eat ice cream every day (ok, maybe I do!)
Best moment this week: ok, so this week we were SUPER busy getting things ready for both Caleb's and Aubrey's rooms. We got Caleb's bed painted (with help from Mark, our future bro-in-law who is marrying Rhett's sister - he was staying here for his first week of work as they do not have an apartment yet). Then on Thursday night, Rhett and Mark moved all the furniture out of Caleb's room and the guest/Aubrey's room and into the living room so that Friday morning we could have the carpets cleaned. After the carpets were cleaned, my sister Courtney (who stayed for the weekend) helped Rhett get Caleb's bed set up in his room and that night was his first night sleeping in it (more on that later). Saturday, Rhett painted Aubrey's room (I helped a little) and then he and Courtney moved the nursery furniture into there....so now we have both rooms mostly set up! I still need to figure out some storage solutions for Caleb's room (Rhett might be building more furniture - we will see) and of course, decorate Aubrey's room and finish getting some things for her. BUT, we got a lot accomplished this week! Poor Rhett, I worked him like a dog all week and he's been so busy at work....but the good news is that most of the "big things" are done! And poor Mark, he worked his first week at a brand new job (his first "real" job after college) and then came home and helped us paint in the evenings. I couldn't have gotten all this done by myself, for sure...even with just Rhett it would have been difficult....so we are thankful for both Mark and Courtney for helping us out!! (and like I said, I think I'm nesting so I really NEEDED to get this stuff done this week so I could stop worrying about it!)
What I am looking forward to: after last week, I'm looking forward to not having to paint! and I also have an appointment on Thursday, so hearing Aubrey's heartbeat :-)
