32 weeks

Week 32 flew by in a blur! This was actually my last week at work, so overall it was a little weird for me. I worked on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. With all the discomfort I'm having with my sciatica (which is slowly improving) and now my lower back really feeling the effects of this heavy belly, we just decided that I should go ahead and call it quits. So I guess I have now entered into "semi-retirement", which is kinda weird. I say "semi-retirement" because at some point, I will probably do some relief work. It was really weird taking my license down off the wall. I won't lie, I did shed a few tears. This is a big change for me, but I know it will be worth it. Now, I am just going to relax and prepare for motherhood and prepare our home for Caleb's arrival! We are really blessed to be able to afford for me to quit working a little earlier than planned. :o)

I had a doctor's appointment and a physical therapy appointment this week. The doctor's appointment went fine & was uneventful (other than hearing Caleb's heartbeat again!). We also did an anesthesiology consult to find out more about the possibility of an epidural w/my scoliosis. I had surgery for it in 8th grade. I tried to get a copy of the x-rays, but St.Luke's only keeps them for 10 years. The anesthesiology nurse said that they would just try it, and it may or may not work. She said they have a 60% success rate. If it doesn't work, then I have to go "au naturale"...fun. If I end up having to have a c-section for some reason, then they would have to use general anesthesia (if the epidural or spinal block didn't work). I'm really hoping that doesn't happen b/c I won't be awake at all when Caleb is born. Of course, we will do what we have to do. I can't help but worry about this. I'm praying that the epidural will work! My physical therapy appointment went well, too. It was much less painful this week, so that's a good thing! She said my left pelvis is still a little out of line, but this could also be due to my scoliosis...who knows? The pain has definitely decreased, but still increases if I stand or walk too much or if I have to sit for long periods of time in uncomfortable seating. I can tell that the PT and stretches are helping, though! Hopefully, my back won't give me too many problems from here on out. It has started bothering me some lately...probably b/c of all this extra weight I'm carrying!

We also attended 2 more classes at the hospital this week; infant CPR and breastfeeding. Both classes were very informative. Between my appointments and the 2 classes, I went to the professional building/hospital 4 times in a matter of 4 days!

Hmm...what else? Rhett moved into his new office building this week, so I went up there on Wednesday to help him figure out where to hang stuff on the walls. Since he's the only one bringing in any money now, he's got to work in style! We're getting the Houston Chronicle framed from when Biggio got his 3000th career hit, so that will eventually go up along with a few other Biggio/3000th hit things we have. (in addition to the normal stuff like diplomas, license, etc)

Well, anyway...here is my pic for this week.
