We were quite busy on Friday, running errands and having friends over for dinner. We went to the nearby Mattress Firm store to price twin mattresses, and thankfully they turned out the be cheaper than we thought they'd be. We also headed to Home Depot to price lumber for Caleb's bed and trundle. We needed to make sure there were boards available at a certain width so that we could fit the mattress we wanted into the trundle. Luckily, they had the size we need! After Home Depot, we ran by the UPS store to buy stamps and then to drop off Rhett's work clothes at the dry cleaners. By this time, it was noon and we needed to feed the boy so we tried a new chicken place nearby called Zaxby's. It was really good and we will definitely go back there. It was kinda like Raisin' Cane's but they have other things besides just chicken fingers and fries (buffalo chicken, chicken salads, etc). It isn't quite as good as Cane's but a very good substitute since the closest Cane's is about 20 minutes away. After lunch, we had one more stop at Sherwin Williams to get paint samples for Aubrey's room. It was a productive morning, but the errands were not done! While Caleb napped, Rhett went to the grocery store and to buy the mattresses and then I ran to Toys R Us. Whew - lots of running around!
Friday evening, our friends Jenn and Jarod came over for dinner and for the kiddos to hunt eggs. Last year they were both too small for an egg hunt, so this was a first for both! Caleb has been playing with his plastic eggs for a week now so he knew that they would open. He didn't really get into the hunting of the eggs too much because he just wanted to open any that he found. He wasn't interested in carrying around his bucket either. Camille did a good job of carrying her basket and keeping her eggs IN her basket (although her daddy had to help her find them...she is just barely one now). Maybe it's a girl thing...she kinda carried her basket on her arm like a purse! And poor girl - Caleb tried to take some of her eggs! After hunting eggs, they played on the climber/slide, then we went inside for dinner and chilled out for the rest of the evening.
*A lot of my pictures are blurry because Caleb is always on the go now! Sometimes I will put it on the "sports/action" setting and that helps, but I just forgot to do it this time.
"ooooh, I see one!"
He would not carry his bucket, so Daddy had to help.
He mostly just wanted to open them up.
Camille showing Caleb how it's done...
running after another one (with mouth open, haha!)
egg thief!
"Stay away from my eggs, kid!"
He probably climbs the slide just as much as he goes down it.
Camille enjoyed the slide/climber...and Caleb eventually found a stick and wouldn't let it go.

Of course, the real significance of Good Friday is that it is the day that Jesus was crucified on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins so that we may have eternal life.
"But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed."
Isaiah 53:5
"For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8
I love this worship song called "Jesus Paid It All"
I hear the Savior say
Thy strength indeed is small
Child of weakness watch and pray
Find in me thine all in all
Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
Lord now indeed I find
Thy power and thine alone
Can change the lepers spots
And melt the heart of stone
Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
And when before the throne
I stand in him complete
Jesus died my soul to save
My lips shall still repeat
Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
Oh praise the one
Who paid my debt
And raised this life
Up from the dead!
Jesus paid it all
All to him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow
