"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,"
1 Peter 1:3
On Easter Sunday, we went to church to celebrate our risen Savior! We sang one of my favorite worship songs, "In Christ Alone" (here's a link to video/audio on YouTube if you want to hear it). It is such a beautiful song and I cannot get through it without getting teary-eyed. I think the last two verses are my favorite....
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.
"Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.
The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;"
John 11:25

After church, we came home and discovered that the Easter Bunny had visited! (he must go to the evening service - ha!). He brought Caleb some new Matchbox cars, books, sidewalk chalk, Peeps, and M&M's! We have already enjoyed the cars and books, but Caleb does not quite get the concept of sidewalk chalk. He ate one Peep and seemed to like it, but then spit the second one out. He loves M&M's so he's already eaten one of the two fun-size bags he got. We are saving the other for a rainy day. :)
After naptime, we attempted to take some pics outside and I managed to get a few cute ones. He just moves too much these days for me to get many good pictures! I did take a LOT of pics, though and even the ones that aren't "great" are cute to me....so I have a lot to share! I made some of them into collages to try and condense it all. :)
See, I told you I had a lot of pictures! We had a wonderful and fun day!
Although for now, to Caleb, Easter is more about fun goodies, plastic eggs, and candy - I pray that we would always focus on the true meaning of this day and that Caleb, Aubrey and any other children we might be blessed with would always know the REAL reason we celebrate Easter! We look forward to the day when we can teach each of our children about our risen Savior!
