Plans for Aubrey's Room

Bye Bye, guest room!  Hello, Aubrey's room!  The first order of business for Aubrey's room will be to remove the queen bed and elliptical machine we have in there right now.  Where these items are going, I do not know!  We are going to try to wrap and protect the mattress set and store it in our garage. (since we only park the Murano in there, we have a little space)  I guess if that does not work out as we have envisioned it, we will have to figure something else out.  The bigger issue is with the elliptical machine.  We bought it used last summer when I got serious about losing my baby weight from Caleb and I would like to keep it so I can use it after Aubrey is born!  It will probably end up in our master bedroom, although I really don't want it in there.  We will also have to clean out the closet to make room for baby stuff!

I searched high and low for a bedding set that was not pink, pink, and more pink...I just can't do it (the pink bedding, that is).  I originally found a set that I liked from PBK that had some pink in it but also some aqua blue, light green, and brown.  I thought it might match the aqua blue that the guest room walls are painted now, so I bought a piece of it and brought it home to see (in hopes that maybe we wouldn't have to paint the walls).  Well, it did match it pretty well but Rhett wasn't crazy about it.  Since I wasn't attached to it either, I ordered a purple and brown set from Target to see if we would like it (purple I can do!).  I did like it, but thought it needed a little more color.  So, I looked at PBK again and found a really pretty purple and green set there....brought it home, and we both love it!  And the best part was that it was on clearance and ended up being cheaper than the set from Target!  We are going to paint the walls a light purple color, but still need to choose it. We bought 2 samples at Sherwin Williams on Friday and will try those out this week.

Here is what Aubrey's bedding looks like....

We did not want to buy another crib & dresser/changing table set, so she will be using what we bought for Caleb (espresso).  I would love to get a white set for her, but it just doesn't make sense to buy another set nor is it in our budget.  The bedding has a little bit of brown in it, so hopefully it will still look ok.  (well, it has to because that is the only option!)  The glider is one thing I'm wondering what to do with because the cushions are an off-white/light tan color and obviously the base of this bedding set is white.  Maybe someone can sew a cover for it?  This is something I need to think about, but we are definitely reusing it because it just doesn't make sense to buy another glider either.  Here's the crib and dresser/changing table we have (the shorter one)...

Well, that's all we have so far for Aubrey's room.  I'm excited to see how it turns out!

Looks great Morgan! I actually found bedding that I LOVE LOVE from Restoration Hardware. Although I have no clue when I will have kids (and what the gender of my kids will be whne I have them)... I think I may just buy it so I have it!!! :) I know the feeling of Pottery Barn taste on Target budget though...It is sooo tough.

Btw.. have you ever checked out younghouselove.com.. they are really DIY.. and they have all these instructions on how to paint things. You probably could easily sand and paint the crib white. I actually recently sanded my guest bedroom furniture (That was a wood veneer) and painted it black. It actually ended up looking great!! :)

I love the bedding set you chose!! That one actually caught my eye before as well since I love purple and can't handle tons of pink either. If we had known Ellie was going to be a girl beforehand I might have ended up with that as well. =)
